(Oct 8, 2015 – Amsterdam)smanos, a trendsetting innovator and dynamic developer of wireless smart home and DIY security systems, is proudly bringing its Red Dot and Computex d&i Gold design icon K1, as well as its highly acclaimed WiFi and cellular portfolio to Electronics Fair in Hong Kong from Oct 13 ~16, and CEDIA Expo in Dallas from Oct 15~17. The complete smanos smart home portfolio speaks minimalistic elegance, self-installation and self-monitoring, and will be available at Stand 3G-A10 at the Wanchai Convention Center and at Stand 7102 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, respectively. From WiFi, cellular, app-enabled alarm and video systems to remote energy and security management, smanos solutions cater to today’s mobile-driven lifestyles and ever-evolving residential needs, and ensure homeowners have complete control, comfort and visual confirmation right at their fingertips within a few short minutes and easy swipes and taps.

“We’re excited to bring the smanos K1 SmartHome DIY Kit to the Asian and American markets and to showcase our latest offerings to importers, distributors, dealers and retailers in the respective regions,” said Hayden Hsu, VP of Strategy and Marketing. The K1, the ultimate home automation and security center, is smanos’ latest wireless smart home gateway, combining butler- and guard-like functions into a stack of aesthetically pleasing round discs. “The discs come with aluminum frames and texturized plastic surfaces, particularly designed for everyday wear and tear,” said Sam Xu, Lead Industrial Designer. “smanos K1 connects to up to 50 wireless accessories with ease, and its intuitive operation both on-site and on the smartphone is a breeze. Users, young or old, can rely on their basic senses to see, hear or touch to check if K1-enabled things at home are working properly.” Such connected but wireless things include locks, HD cameras, alarm detectors/sirens and environmental sensors. A recent strategic alliance also means that the K1 will be Apple HomeKit compatible in Q1 of 2016, Hsu added.

Comparable with high-caliber smartphones these days, said Brian Stark, GM of North America, smanos K1 is easily mount-and-play, and adding/removing features is just like adding/removing smartphone apps. “With such intuitive operation and user-adjustable flexibility, your smart and connected home has just become that much more adorable and affordable with smanos K1.”

The IP6, a nifty complement to smanos’ alarm portfolio and an HD camera for home security and serenity, has a wide field of view at 110 degrees (equivalent to 2 home cameras from the competition combined) and a state-of-the-art, SONY-enhanced, low-light vision that cannot be found elsewhere in the residential DIY security sector, said Daniel Chung, Global Business Development Director. “smanos IP6 is an intuitive, plug-and-play home camera that delivers uncanny, smooth, HD quality video at 720p, without any complications or LAN setup.” Simply download the free app from App Store or Google Play, register for free, power on your IP6, scan the QR code in the back, and upon a WiFi auto link, this little gadget is ready for any action. “Cleverly integrated to work with any smanos system, smanos IP6 is a must-have if you want to keep an eye on your property, loved ones or pets 24/7,” Chung stressed.

Moreover, with just one QR code scan, you can share (or revoke) your IP6 camera views with your family or friends, and enjoy memorable moments with them, Hsu said. “The built-in HiFi microphone and speaker ensure seamless 2-way communication between you and your loved ones, keeping either party in the know, on the go. One smartphone can control multiple smanos IP6’s; and vice versa, one IP6 can be viewed by multiple users simultaneously.”

Other products on display include the W020/L020 WiFi/Ethernet alarm systems, W100 WiFi/phone line alarm, X500/X330 GSM alarm systems, as well as a full range of wireless, battery-powered accessories.

Designed in the Netherlands and marketed worldwide, smanos is our complete security, monitoring and automation system lineup for today’s homeowners, Hsu said. “What makes smanos a must-have brand to distributors and retailers is that we’re truly committed to researching, designing and delivering innovative, comprehensive and easy-to-use smart home solutions that will help them outperform their sales and profit targets.” Worldwide, what’s being demanded in the residential market these days is smart, simple, sleek, mobile yet compact and integrated ingenuity, and smanos will continue providing just that, with even more home automation, remote management and monitoring options.
