The new WiFi-based products improve homeowners’ ability to scale up and remotely view
both the interior and exterior of their home.

(May 30, 2016 - Taipei) smanos, a trendsetting innovator and award-winning developer of wireless smart home and DIY security systems, stole the show at Computex 2015 with its d&i Gold Award design icon K1 SmartHome DIY Kit. This year, smanos returns with another award-winning honor – the Smart Video Doorbell – and its newly launched panoramic WiFi HD camera, the UFO. Check out these hot new items, as well as other highly sought after smanos WiFi- and cellular-based smart home solutions, at Computex Taipei from May 31 to June 4.

The complete smanos smart home portfolio speaks minimalistic elegance, self-installation and self-monitoring, and is available at Stand C0626 in Hall 1 at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) throughout the 5 days. From WiFi, cellular, app-enabled alarm and video systems to remote energy and security management, smanos solutions cater to today’s mobile-driven lifestyles and ever-evolving residential needs, and ensure homeowners have complete control, comfort and visual confirmation right at their fingertips within a few short minutes and easy swipes and taps.

The K1, the ultimate home automation and security center, is smanos’s ultimate smart home gateway, combining butler- and guard-like functions into a stack of esthetically pleasing round discs. “This year, we have added a few cool features to the K1 smart home hub so that it is Z-Wave compatible and works with the Google Nest® thermostat and Amazon Echo,” said Hayden Hsu, SVP Strategy & Marketing. “With K1’s intuitive operation and user-adjustable scalability, your smart and connected home has just become that much more adorable and affordable with the smanos K1.” The newly enhanced K1 kit will be globally available in September 2016 at an MSRP of US$299.

Available separately or as part of the K1 system, smanos’s new Smart Video Doorbell empowers you to answer the door even when you’re not home! The doorbell captures and sends real-time video and audio to the homeowner’s and their family members’ smartphones. Using the iOS or Android smartphone app, users can then speak with the visitor – or potential intruder – from anywhere in the world as long as the Internet (via WiFi or cellular signals) is available.

The doorbell features simple DIY installation, is battery-powered for usage around 10 weeks, and allows you to wire to your existing door chime if desired using the AC power module. The smanos Smart Video Doorbell will be available for purchase globally in August 2016 at an MSRP of US$199.

Designed in the Netherlands and marketed worldwide, smanos is our complete security, monitoring and automation system lineup for today’s homeowners, said Brian Borghardt, General Manager of Europe. “What makes smanos a must-have brand to distributors and retailers is that we’re truly committed to researching, designing and delivering innovative, comprehensive and easy-to-use smart home solutions that will help them outperform their sales and profit targets.” Worldwide, what’s being demanded in the residential market these days is smart, simple, sleek, mobile yet compact and integrated ingenuity, and smanos will continue providing just that, with even more home automation, remote management and monitoring options.
