smanos® W100 WiFi/PSTN Alarm System
The smanos® W100 alarm system offers a number of innovative features which are easily accessed via the free smartphone app. The app enables you to access many of the functions of the system remotely – via your cellular network or any WiFi connection – without having to be right in front of the control hub itself.
In this blog update, we are going to step through a couple of simple, but important, features that can be accessed via the iOS or Android apps from the App Store or Google Play.
We’re assuming that you have already set up WiFi on the W100 panel – if you haven’t this is a very easy process that can be found on page 12 of the W100 instruction manual, or on YouTube.
To get started, simply open the app on your smartphone and you will see a screen like the one shown below.
Disarming and arming couldn’t be simpler – simply press the [Disarm] button and all sensors synchronized with the alarm panel will be disarmed. To arm the system, press the [Arm] button and all of the synchronized sensors will be armed.
There is also the stay / home mode. This mode is activated by pressing the [Stay] button and will disarm all of the sensors in the home mode zone but all other sensors will remain armed. This is ideal in situations where, for example, you are home so you want to be able to move freely around the house, but you want the garage and outbuildings to be armed.
So that’s how easy it is to arm / disarm the system via the app. Now let’s take a look at setting the volume of the siren inside the alarm panel.
Again, the first step is to open the app. You’ll see the arm / disarm screen again but, this time, we want to press the [All Devices] button on the bottom right.
This will take you through to the main setup menu. Press [Panel Settings] on the bottom right, and that will take you to the alarm panel setup menu which you can see below.
To set the alarm panel volume, simply tap [Volume] at the top. This will take you to the volume screen, and you can select one of the three options: mute, low and high. The default setting is high.
That’s all there is to it – the arm and disarm functions you will use the most often. The setup will be used much less frequently, but as you can see configuring and operating the W100 Alarm System from your smartphone is simplicity itself!
